Dermagist: Original Wrinkle Smoothing Cream Review

How you manage your personal skincare now will make for a more positive attitude about the aging process later. The key to young looking skin into the middle ages and beyond is careful attention to details beginning as young as your twenties. I’ve tried it all with the exception of Botox and other invasive tactics. Skincare is more than keeping that tube of sunscreen available, it’s about cleansing and moisturizing properly and making sure you know your correct skin type.

When we suddenly celebrate our 50th birthdays or at least headed that way, we get nervous and start looking in the mirror more and experimenting with new concoctions. Recently I was contacted by Dermagist to try out and blog about their anti-aging products. Of course, I don’t turn down free stuff, that wouldn’t be Frantastically Frugal, so I graciously accepted and was sent their “Original Wrinkle Smoothing Cream”. The main ingredient is Matrixyl® which boasts minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and is the trademark name for palmitoyl pentapeptide-3. A more simplified answer to “What is Matrixyl®?” and “What are Peptides?” can be found at eHow.com.

The Review

For the last three weeks I have been using a form of Matrixyl® embedded in Dermagist’s Original Wrinke Smoothing Cream and here’s what I have found:

•It does not irritate my skin
•Quicker healing from breakouts
•Slight firming takes place immediately after application
•Lays a good foundation for moisturizing and makeup

I have been fortunate thus far not to have too much wrinkling and I thank my lucky stars and DNA everyday for it; however, I know that in order to stay that way I’ll have to continue practicing preventative maintenance everyday in order to preserve this winning streak. Technology is everchanging and Dermagist is a good place to start. The site offers an array of products to fit your skincare needs from anti-aging to acne treatment.

We all have our skin regimens. What is yours?
