I love finding tasty cocktail recipes and one day I’m going to get around to making a few. I ran across the “SORRY I was Sour” Sour cocktail in Redbook Magazine. The name certainly caught my attention. I’m sure your first thought might be that bourbon has a reputation for being a hard liquor but judging by the recipe it truly can be softened. Double the recipe to form the perfect apology.
The “Sorry I was Sour” Sour
Redbook / Mommy Mixologist
1 1/2 oz bourbon
1 oz OJ
1/2 oz lemon juice
1 oz honey water (Add one part honey to one part hot water and stir to dissolve.)
Directions: Combine all ingredients and a scoop of ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for a good 10-count. Strain into a glass with fresh ice. For garnish, simply take a vegetable peeler and shave a nice-size curl off an orange.
